This course will discuss the components within the lighting and lighting controls provisions of the 2021 IECC energy code and compare and contrast these provisions with the 2018 version.
Objectives:
- Review the components within the lighting and lighting controls provisions of the 2021 IECC energy code.
- Discuss each objective’s requirements, exceptions and options.
- Recall how each objective translates into a lighting control design.
- Compare and contrast IECC 2021 and the previous version from 2018.
Speaker: Cory Clarke, Director of Lighting Controls Acuity Brands
Cory Clarke has served as an electrical engineer for 16 years in the Chicagoland area focused mainly on the commercial, industrial and education sectors prior to joining Acuity Brands as an applications engineer in 2012. He transitioned from engineering into technical sales as the Director of Total Solutions for the Northwest region for Acuity Brands to further educate the design community on new trends, products and strategies being developed for lighting control, automation and IoT integration. He always looks to gain input and feedback from the design and contractor communities to further evolve the solutions available from Acuity Brands and to help facilitate solutions that have not been developed or considered.
