Working from home during the pandemic highlighted the need for new efficient applications to facilitate the development of lighting design in a socially distanced world. We will explore several of the latest lighting design tools available to designers and reveal unconventional ways of utilizing tools already in our lighting design repertoire.

Travis Taullie is the Senior Lighting Designer for DLR Group’s SouthWest Region. He has 20+ years of designing lighting projects of all types, and has spent the last 3 years focused on the elimination of glare within the lit environment. Travis currently sits on the Energy and Sustainability Forum for IALD where he is helping to develop new glare metrics for LEED and the WELL Building Standard.
Emlyn Altman, often referred to as “Gadget Girl” by colleagues for her ability to find creative technical solutions for design problems, incorporates a unique, combined background in lighting, architectural design, sculpture, and 3D visualization throughout her work. With over 25 years of experience working on interior and exterior projects from concept development through construction administration and post-occupancy efforts, her portfolio includes a diverse range of designs including: Hospitality, Residential, Luxury Yachts, Corporate, Civic, Education, Healthcare, Retail, Sports, Transportation, Laboratories, and large-scale art installations.
